| Getting Boscolized
It all began early 2006. Kozzi was your typical, ordinary, Asian girl. She was a university student, and had just finished a school term. Now she was never really a big fan of TVB series (instead, she followed American shows like The O.C., America’s Next Top Model, and Amazing Race), but seeing how it was the beginning of a co-op term and she had a lot of time on her hands, her lovely friend decided to lend her some TVB series to kill time. One of those series was War of In-Laws. To be quite honest, she really wasn’t too eager about watching War of In-Laws, because she thought it looked quite… well, stupid. However, her friend insisted that it was cute series, and so she thought it was worth giving it a try. After all, she trusted her friend’s taste. After watching the first episode, she was immediately drawn to the character “Ling Mau Chun”, which was played by Bosco of course, though she didn’t know of him at that time. She literally LOL-ed at his facial expressions when he was battling for the wife. As the series developed, she became more and more intrigued by this actor who played the attractive dual-identity character. By the end of the series, she was absolutely into him, and thus, she began the quest to search for more information about this actor. The more information she dug up about Bosco over the Internet, the more her admiration for this actor grew. Not only was he a great actor, but she admired the hardworking attitude, and his cute and adorable personality he displayed off the screen. Not to mention, he was a great cook! Now how can a girl not adore a man who can cook? ;] She then watched Bosco’s next series Life Made Simple, which of course, only further deepened her already huge affection for this wonderful actor, thanks to his oh-so-hot image in that series. Birth of BOSCO-WONG.COM It was around early February, after finishing Life Made Simple, when the notion of making a Bosco Wong fan site first entered Kozzi’s mind. She had several years of web design background, but she had never made a fan site before (as she had never admired any other celebrity to the same extent she does for Bosco). She did notice several English sites dedicated to him, but most were outdated and abandoned for a few months. On Valentine’s Day, she finally made the decision to buy a domain for this fan site. It took a while for her to decide upon a domain name. She was torn between bosco-w.net and bosco-wong.com. In the end, the latter was chosen for reasons she can’t recall. It was probably simply a gut feeling. And thus, bosco-wong.com was born. Going Official Whenever people ask her what she did to become the official site for Bosco, her response is this: “I didn’t really do anything.” And that is quite true. It was interesting how everything just simply unfolded in such a short period of time. Shortly after she purchased the domain, she discovered that the Official Bosco Wong Fan Club in Hong Kong was accepting members again. She immediately applied, without the slightest hint of hesitation. However, because there were a lot of complications for overseas members, her application was left idling for a few weeks. One day, an announcement was made on the Official Bosco Wong Fan Club in Hong Kong: they were looking for an overseas fan to help organize the overseas fans list. And considering she wanted to join the Fan Club ASAP, she emailed the Fan Club to see if she could be of any assistance! Since she also happened to be building an English-based Bosco Wong site, it was also made the Official Bosco Wong English Website by the Fan Club Committee in Hong Kong at that point. All in all, she just happened to be at the right place at the right time. |

| The reason I am doing all of this is because I truly admire Bosco, not only for his talent in acting, but also for his character. I have liked other actors before, but none of them showed the same charisma, drive, and.. and… adorable-ness! The fact that he is so nice to his fans and tries to remember faces shows that he genuinely cares about us.
I am quite aware that, at first glance, he may not be the hottest out of the currrent batch of heavily promoted TVB “siu sangs”. However, he has this special attractive aura, which is pretty evident when he has managed to attract thousands of fans, of all ages, from around the world. Besides, I find that Bosco’s appearance tends to grow on people. My biggest wish is to not only be his fan, but to become his friend one day. He has all the qualities that you would find in a true friend. I would love to just sit down and exchange a good, deep conversation with him. Though of course, considering how I am located half way around the world, this shall forever remain a wish… |
