TVB’s new special interest show “Jing Ying Ye Ngoi Kwong Ban” (Stars Go Wild in the Country) invited six artistes: Jade Leung, Bosco Wong, Kevin Cheng, Wong On Kei, Margaret Chung and Stephanie Wang to an outdoor training camp to work in teams to take part in competitions and Stephanie appeared wearing a two piece swimsuit to stand up in a game where they had to jump from a pier. However a slight misjudgement whilst jumping in caused her top to slip and Stephanie revealed more than she bargained for of her 35D figure. In the game, the stars had to overcome many difficult tasks, such as crossing a plank twenty foot high, building a raft, jumping from a pier for a swim and an overnight scavenger hunt in order to test their courage and physical ability. Although Jade, On Kei and Margaret are girls, their bravery was not to be underestimated.

Bosco Wong, Rain Lee, John Chiang, Sammul Chan and Iva Lo were among the artistes appearing at the costume trial for TVB’s new series “Wong Fei Hung - Master of Kung Fu” 《我師傅係黃飛鴻 》 yesterday. Rain plays a tomboy character in the show and is hard at work practising her martial arts moves because she is adamant on not using a stunt double wherever she can, laughing that her friends pointed out it was too obvious in her performance for “Lofty Water Verdant Bow”. She adds that in some scenes, she has to dress as a man, so she has to wear some big clothes to cover her figure. In response to reports that she has been too poor to be able to buy clothes when she is shopping, she denies this, explaining that since her father has applied for bankrupcy, she no longer has to bear his debts and with the weight lifted from her shoulders, she can now freely spend her money on whatever she likes. Currently also filming for “Rainbow Bridge”, Rain admits she has fallen in love with acting in series, so will be putting her singing career on hold until next year.
TVB’s new series, “Wong Fei Hung - Master of Kung Fu” 《我師傅係黃飛鴻 》 will begin filming mid-month and producer Wong Wai Sing is looking for realism in the Kung Fu scenes and cinematic effect, so not only has he requested that all the male stars shave their heads, he has also arranged for all the cast to learn Hung Kune from a master.
A group of cast members including “Master” Bosco Wong, “Leung Foon” Sammul Chan and “Mok Kwai Lan” Rain Li were at the class yesterday and as well as warm up, stretching and basic stance exercises, they also had to fire some punches and kicks. The all worked very hard and although she was the female there, Rain Li had no special treatment. No wonder she said: “After the first session, my arms, legs and back muscles ached a lot, but I find that learning Kung Fu is very practical as it can be used for self-defence and people will not mess with you. Maybe I have a dance background, so the master praised me saying that my muscles are quite strong. Also I am constantly practicing my kicks in the hope that I can perfect it.” Apart from this, Rain also reveals that she will do her best in the show and not use a stunt double, doing her own fights. She also laughs that she can become a fighting star after this show.
Also, Bosco Wong who will be playing the young Master Wong, says that as the character is well known, it is hard to grasp in depth. He says: “Because Wong Fei Hung is a name known in every household and he has been so well played by Jet Li and Master Kwan, he is deeply grounded in people’s hearts, so there will definitely be some pressure there for me.”

It is about time that TVB began to nurture a new group of male leads and recently one of the targets of its promotion has been star of “Find the Light” 《英雄、刀、少年》 - character of “Tam Chi Tung” — Bosco Wong. He will soon be taking on the lead role of young Wong Fei Hung in Wong Wai Sing’s new show carrying the series together with Sammul Chan and Kenneth Ma.
