Kevin Cheng, Bosco Wong and Niki Chow were filming a water scene for “Lovers Under Sky Curtains” yesterday, where the two men are fighting over Niki and jump in the water to see who can hold their breath the longest. In the end it is Niki who has to jump into the water to rescue the unconscious Bosco.

After the earlier success of all-male album “All About Men”, TVB is building on this and will soon be releasing an album of children’s songs, featuring home-grown stars such as Shirley Yeung, Bosco Wong and Charles Szeto as well as singers Ivana Wong and Patrick Tang. TVB’s Production Resources Dept Deputy Chief Lok Yee Ling says: “We will be working with other record companies as well, such as BMA, who will be releasing an EP for Ron Ng and have chosen a song for him to plug that will show off his dancing talent. We are not out to make money from the records, but rather to give our artistes the chance to develop in different fields.”

Bosco Wong’s popularity has risen since the success of “Wars of In-Laws” and this has brought him many chances to make some more money, but he says with resignation: “I make money on one hand but then I have to spend money with the other. For some reason, the axles broke on my car and I had to spend about $10,000 on fixing them, so it was painful and I have to work harder to make money now.”

With his recent rise in popularity thanks to “Wars of In-Laws”, Bosco Wong has beaten many other artistes to win the contract with a skincare product range and pocketing a tidy six figure fee. Shooting the ad for the product, he admitted that this job was very much thanks to Liza Wang: “It was very hard work during filming and Liza found that I was lacking in energy, so she would make me soup to drink and this improved my skin. This made the sponsors select me and I owe this to Liza, my saviour.” The sponsors have agreed to provide Bosco with a lifetime’s supply of skincare products and he says: “In order to show my thanks to Liza, I will be giving her some samples of the product.”

Liza Wang, Myolie Wu, Bosco Wong and Shek Sau attended the “Wars of In-Laws” celebratory dinner at Sunny Chan’s restaurant earlier and with the finale ratings peaking at 38 points (2.49 million viewers), TVB paid for six tables for all the cast and crew members, with the occasion attended by TVB executives, including General Manager Stephen Chan, Lok Yee Ling and Tommy Leung.

Bosco Wong’s popularity has risen sharply after the success of “Wars of In-Laws” and his lovable role in the show has won the hearts of many female fans. At a gathering of over 120 female fans from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Malaysia and Taiwan earlier, he surprised them with a big box of mooncakes he had picked up from his sponsors to share with them. As Bosco arrived at the scene, there was some confusion and in order to satisfy his female fans, he agreed to pose for photographs with them all, saying: “With the confusion before, I really did quite scared. When I arrived, I felt quite overwhelmed, because I never thought so many people would support me. I am very happy! You don’t need to worry, I will defintely have my photo taken with you all and sign autographs before I go.”

Cast members from TVB’s hit comedy “War of In-Laws” held a promotional event at a restaurant earlier and as it is Liza Wang’s birthday on the 28th, they took the chance to celebrate with her/ Attended by stars such as Bosco Wong, Myolie Wu and TVB executive Lok Yee Ling, they presented Liza with a cake and some skincare gifts. Liza joined in the atmosphere but playing some tricks of her own, firstly turning up dressed as her ‘Beggarwoman Princess’ from the series and then transforming herself into a beauty queen and showing a sash that read ‘TVB’s Most Faithful Artiste’. Liza has renewed her contract with TVB for another two years and she says they have been working well. As for whether she received a payrise, she says: “I have always been easy going. (Are you confident to win a female lead award?) What do you think?”
